In 2022\, she became the state’s first woman and first openly LGBTQ person elected to the position. \nIn her first year as Governor\, Healey has already delivered on key promises to help Massachusetts become a leader in clean energy\, a more affordable and equitable place to live\, and a great place for businesses to operate. \nOn her first day in office\, Governor Healey appointed the nation’s first cabinet-level Climate Chief and created the Office of Climate Innovation & Resilience to coordinate policies across all of state government to address the climate crisis. Governor Healey has also prioritized education and workforce development by making free school meals for K-12 students permanent and creating a free community college program for residents ages 25 and older. She has made historic investments in apprenticeships and other career pathways. Governor Healey also delivered on her promise to make Massachusetts more affordable by cutting taxes for the first time in 20 years\, including creating the most generous Child and Family Tax Credit in the county. Her tax cuts package puts money back into the pockets of families\, renters\, seniors and others who are struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living. She also recently introduced the $4 billion Affordable Homes Act\, which would be the state’s largest housing investment in history\, to create tens of thousands of homes and lower costs. \nHealey previously served two terms as Massachusetts Attorney General\, first elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. In her role as the People’s Lawyer\, she took on difficult issues impacting Massachusetts residents\, including the opioid epidemic\, the climate crisis\, escalating health care costs\, and student loan debt. Earlier in her career\, Healey was a litigation partner at an international law firm. \nHealey grew up the oldest of five siblings in an old New England farmhouse. She and her siblings were raised by their mother\, Tracy\, who worked as a nurse at the local elementary school. Her stepfather\, Edward\, who later joined the family\, was a teacher and local union president. He coached her high school basketball team and instilled a lifelong love of the sport. Healey attended Harvard College\, where she captained the basketball team\, and then spent two years as a 5’4” starting point guard on a professional basketball team in Austria. \nFor much of her career\, she’s been the only woman in the room and has taken every opportunity to elevate other women. She has excelled at mastering the details of the technical and financial aspects of utilities. Lissette is able to communicate with colleagues skillfully and thoughtfully at all levels of the business as well as\, customers and stakeholders from a broad range of communities in Connecticut and beyond. \nLissette has taken the time not only to understand the particular position she holds\, but to understand all areas of the company and who the subject-matter experts are. As a result\, when situations occur or problems arise that Lissette or one of her colleagues may not be able to address themselves\, she knows who to contact to make progress. Moreover\, when that contact is made\, the person receiving the outreach is willing to take the time to help because Lissette has consistently treated them with respect\, no matter where they are in the organization\, and taken the time to establish and nurture her relationship with them. \nLissette has experienced the business from many perspectives and acquired expertise in numerous areas including: \n\nRegulatory relations\,\nCommunity relations\,\nStrategic partnerships\,\nInternal communications\,\nCommunications and outreach\,\nCorporate philanthropy\,\nCommunity engagement\, and\nBusiness and economic development.\n\nIn her most recent role as Director\, Equity and Environmental Justice\, Lisette is responsible for ensuring that Equity is at the core of Eversource’s business decisions. Lissette currently engages with leaders throughout the company to ensure all employees understand how every decision will be viewed through the equity lens. \nLissette not only a consistent\, top-notch performer in her “Blue Sky” role\, she has also been a critical asset to Eversource in her role as Chief Regulatory Officer during weather events. When activated\, Lissette excels in mobilizing the regulatory branch and notifying state agencies and regulators on event preparedness efforts. The Christmas of 2022 Storm was just one of dozens of examples of Lissette stepping up and proactively working hard internally and with stakeholders to collect info\, to get it to appropriate parties and solve problems efficiently and effectively. Working with Emergency Preparedness\, Lissette has increased the organizations interaction with state agencies and provides concierge service on escalated inquiries. Through the enhanced outreach\, the company’s regulator\, the Public Utility Regulatory Authority\, in addition to the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and the Department of Transportation and other state agencies\, municipalities and other stakeholders in Connecticut have trust and confidence in the information Lissette shares with a greater understanding of the cause and steps to deliver a positive resolution. Lissette always finds each interaction as an opportunity to educate on the issue and listen to any feedback to build the relationship. \nLissette’s efforts for the company and as an ambassador for all of us in the energy space do not end at the office door or at the end of the day. She has tirelessly built a strong presence in the community\, including service as: \n\nBoard Member\, ARTE\, INC.\, New Haven\, CT\nBoard Member\, Norwalk Chamber of Commerce\, Norwalk\, CT\nPast Board Chair and Executive Board Member\, Central Connecticut Coast YMCA\n\nLissette’s\, proactive\, inclusive approach is perhaps best evidenced by an organization she founded and led\, the Greater Bridgeport Latino Network. Lissette had just moved to Connecticut and saw a gap in her new state – Latino professionals did not have access to networks to find and share information and collaborate. True to her solution-oriented approach\, Lisette created and organization to fill this gap and help other individuals and her community advance. Prior to joining DOER in 2014\, Joanna worked for ExxonMobil as a geologist. She was appointed by President Biden to serve on the newly established White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. Doria has a Bachelor of Science from Franklin Pierce University in Environmental Science with a concentration in Chemistry and Hydrology. She is a strong believer in climate change and that it is the responsibility of all generations to act now so that we will not be regretful later. These include projects associated with aquatic and terrestrial habitat connectivity\, insect population declines\, policy review and advocacy\, and most frequently these days – projects associated with renewable energy. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College with a major in biology\, and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Maine in Amherst. Rachel navigates the projects she works on through complex regulatory paths at the federal\, state\, and local levels. She was appointed to this position by Governor Ned Lamont in November 2023. As Deputy Commissioner\, Emma provides leadership for the three bureaus within DEEP’s EQ Branch – Air Management\, Water Protection and Land Reuse (WPLR)\, and Materials Management and Compliance Assurance (MMCA). \nEmma joined DEEP from the office of U.S. Senator Chris Murphy\, where she led the Senator’s work on energy\, environment\, transportation\, and infrastructure policy\, including work on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. Prior to the Senate\, Emma worked as a Senior Policy Analyst on the Energy and Environmental Policy team at the National Governor’s Association. She began her state service working for former Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy\, serving as a Director of Government Affairs and leading on energy and environmental work. Emma also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 2009-2011\, during which she taught English in Northern Samar\, Philippines. \nEmma holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She is responsible for advancing clean technologies within the Eversource gas business portfolio to help achieve Eversource’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030\, as well as supporting required statewide emissions reductions in Connecticut and Massachusetts. \nAs part of her role\, Nikki evaluates the feasibility of clean technologies\, such as renewable natural gas\, geothermal energy\, methane reduction and hydrogen\, and manages the development and execution of projects incorporating those clean technologies. She plays a lead role in policy efforts regarding the future of natural gas and other strategic initiatives that help Eversource provide safe\, reliable\, and clean energy to meet its customers’ needs. In addition\, Nikki oversees marketing\, customer connections\, and major account management across Eversource’s gas business\, which includes traditional and clean technology offerings. Prior to this role\, Nikki was Eversource’s Director of Clean Technologies. \nBefore joining Eversource\, Nikki was a Project Director of Business Development for Enbridge. She was responsible for the development of new natural gas transmission ventures\, services\, and related energy projects in the Northeast region. She also managed the Enbridge commercial relationship with National Grid. Earlier in her career\, Nikki held environmental permitting positions of increasing responsibility with Enbridge’s predecessor company\, Spectra Energy\, and worked as an environmental consultant specializing in ecological and health risk assessments. \nNikki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Trinity College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the F.W. These include projects associated with aquatic and terrestrial habitat connectivity\, insect population declines\, policy review and advocacy\, and most frequently these days – projects associated with renewable energy. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College with a major in biology\, and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Maine in Amherst. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She is responsible for advancing clean technologies within the Eversource gas business portfolio to help achieve Eversource’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030\, as well as supporting required statewide emissions reductions in Connecticut and Massachusetts. \nAs part of her role\, Nikki evaluates the feasibility of clean technologies\, such as renewable natural gas\, geothermal energy\, methane reduction and hydrogen\, and manages the development and execution of projects incorporating those clean technologies. She plays a lead role in policy efforts regarding the future of natural gas and other strategic initiatives that help Eversource provide safe\, reliable\, and clean energy to meet its customers’ needs. These include projects associated with aquatic and terrestrial habitat connectivity\, insect population declines\, policy review and advocacy\, and most frequently these days – projects associated with renewable energy. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College with a major in biology\, and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Maine in Amherst. She most recently served as the Assistant Executive Director of GreenRoots\, a community-based organization dedicated to improving and enhancing the urban environment and public health in Chelsea. The city has some of the worst air pollution in the state\, predisposing residents to higher rates of cardiovascular disease and respiratory ailments\, including some of the highest rates of COVID-19 of any Massachusetts community. Power oversaw GreenRoots’ environmental justice campaigns and supported the work of the organizing team. She was appointed by President Biden to serve on the newly established White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. She holds an undergraduate degree in sociology from Augsburg University\, a Master of Public Policy from Tufts University\, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management and Leadership from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice. \n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n \n Doria Brown\nEnergy Manager\nCity of Nashua – Sustainability \n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n Doria's Bio \n \n \n Doria is the first ever Energy Manager for the City of Nashua. She is an emerging energy professional bringing seven years of experience to the community she serves. Doria specializes in Energy Portfolio Management\, Renewable Energy Project Management\, and Greenhouse Gas Accounting. Doria has a Bachelor of Science from Franklin Pierce University in Environmental Science with a concentration in Chemistry and Hydrology. She is a strong believer in climate change and that it is the responsibility of all generations to act now so that we will not be regretful later. When she is not working in the City\, Doria enjoys making short form video content on her Earth Stewardess Platform\, tending to her indoor vegetable garden\, and binging Netflix. \n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n \n Nikki Bruno\nVice President\, Clean Technologies\nEversource \n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n Nikki's Bio \n \n \n Nikki is the Vice President of Clean Technologies in Eversource’s gas business unit. She is responsible for advancing clean technologies within the Eversource gas business portfolio to help achieve Eversource’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030\, as well as supporting required statewide emissions reductions in Connecticut and Massachusetts. \nAs part of her role\, Nikki evaluates the feasibility of clean technologies\, such as renewable natural gas\, geothermal energy\, methane reduction and hydrogen\, and manages the development and execution of projects incorporating those clean technologies. She plays a lead role in policy efforts regarding the future of natural gas and other strategic initiatives that help Eversource provide safe\, reliable\, and clean energy to meet its customers’ needs. In addition\, Nikki oversees marketing\, customer connections\, and major account management across Eversource’s gas business\, which includes traditional and clean technology offerings. Prior to this role\, Nikki was Eversource’s Director of Clean Technologies. \nBefore joining Eversource\, Nikki was a Project Director of Business Development for Enbridge. She was responsible for the development of new natural gas transmission ventures\, services\, and related energy projects in the Northeast region. She also managed the Enbridge commercial relationship with National Grid. Earlier in her career\, Nikki held environmental permitting positions of increasing responsibility with Enbridge’s predecessor company\, Spectra Energy\, and worked as an environmental consultant specializing in ecological and health risk assessments. \nNikki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Trinity College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. \n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n \n Sarah Haggerty\nConservation Biologist and GIS Manager\nMaine Audubon \n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n Sarah's Bio \n \n \n Sarah Haggerty is a Conservation Biologist/GIS Manager for Maine Audubon where she works on a variety of different projects. These include projects associated with aquatic and terrestrial habitat connectivity\, insect population declines\, policy review and advocacy\, and most frequently these days – projects associated with renewable energy. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College with a major in biology\, and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Maine in Amherst. Prior to joining Maine Audubon\, she worked for 10 years at the Massachusetts Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program where she worked as a regulator for two years and a landscape-scale project manager for many more. \n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n \n Rachel Pachter\nChief Development Officer\nVineyard Wind & Vineyard Offshore \n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n Rachel's Bio \n \n \n Rachel Pachter has over twenty years of experience in U.S. offshore wind development. Rachel leads Vineyard Offshore’s team conducting early-stage activities including technical development\, permitting\, environmental activities\, and community engagement. Rachel led and finalized the approval of the first two offshore wind farms in federal waters of the United States\, including Vineyard Wind 1\, which is now under construction. Rachel navigates the projects she works on through complex regulatory paths at the federal\, state\, and local levels. She engages with critical stakeholder groups to reach agreements essential to the success of the project and the local host communities. Rachel is consistently ranked in global lists of wind energy leaders. Her firm collaborates with business and institutional leaders to create and integrate their brand values\, strategic communications\, and sustainability practices. Client engagements include developing a brand and marketing platform for a suicide detection technology startup\, facilitating the merger of three groups for a Dartmouth research institute\, and stepping in as an interim communications executive for a national action tank. \nSue also teaches in the University of New Hampshire’s Sustainability Dual Major and is the faculty lead for the B Impact Clinic\, training undergraduates to work with the B Impact Assessment to consult with business clients that are working to become a certified B Corp or supercharging their sustainability practices. \nPrior to consulting\, Sue worked with leaders in federal and state government\, a global corporation\, and nonprofit healthcare systems\, typically managing large projects\, leading strategic communication teams\, bringing stakeholders together\, and busting silos. Her favorite roles include pioneering work in corporate sustainability at Polaroid Corporation and marketing leadership in Massachusetts’ Department of Energy Resources. \nSue’s purpose is to communicate\, collaborate\, and connect people and their ideas to spark sustainable impact\, fulfillment\, and stewardship for a thriving planet. Her volunteer roles align with her purpose\, as a member of NH Businesses for Social Responsibility’s Measure What Matters committee and an advocate on democracy\, climate\, and a just transition for the future. \nSue graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy\, earned a B.A. from Northwestern University and an M.B.A from Simmons University’s School of Management.
