She most recently served as the Assistant Executive Director of GreenRoots\, a community-based organization dedicated to improving and enhancing the urban environment and public health in Chelsea. The city has some of the worst air pollution in the state\, predisposing residents to higher rates of cardiovascular disease and respiratory ailments\, including some of the highest rates of COVID-19 of any Massachusetts community. Power oversaw GreenRoots’ environmental justice campaigns and supported the work of the organizing team. She was appointed by President Biden to serve on the newly established White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. She is responsible for advancing clean technologies within the Eversource gas business portfolio to help achieve Eversource’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030\, as well as supporting required statewide emissions reductions in Connecticut and Massachusetts. \nAs part of her role\, Nikki evaluates the feasibility of clean technologies\, such as renewable natural gas\, geothermal energy\, methane reduction and hydrogen\, and manages the development and execution of projects incorporating those clean technologies. She plays a lead role in policy efforts regarding the future of natural gas and other strategic initiatives that help Eversource provide safe\, reliable\, and clean energy to meet its customers’ needs. In addition\, Nikki oversees marketing\, customer connections\, and major account management across Eversource’s gas business\, which includes traditional and clean technology offerings. Prior to this role\, Nikki was Eversource’s Director of Clean Technologies. \nBefore joining Eversource\, Nikki was a Project Director of Business Development for Enbridge. She was responsible for the development of new natural gas transmission ventures\, services\, and related energy projects in the Northeast region. She also managed the Enbridge commercial relationship with National Grid. These include projects associated with aquatic and terrestrial habitat connectivity\, insect population declines\, policy review and advocacy\, and most frequently these days – projects associated with renewable energy. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College with a major in biology\, and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Maine in Amherst. The city has some of the worst air pollution in the state\, predisposing residents to higher rates of cardiovascular disease and respiratory ailments\, including some of the highest rates of COVID-19 of any Massachusetts community. Power oversaw GreenRoots’ environmental justice campaigns and supported the work of the organizing team. She was appointed by President Biden to serve on the newly established White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. She is responsible for advancing clean technologies within the Eversource gas business portfolio to help achieve Eversource’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030\, as well as supporting required statewide emissions reductions in Connecticut and Massachusetts. \nAs part of her role\, Nikki evaluates the feasibility of clean technologies\, such as renewable natural gas\, geothermal energy\, methane reduction and hydrogen\, and manages the development and execution of projects incorporating those clean technologies. She plays a lead role in policy efforts regarding the future of natural gas and other strategic initiatives that help Eversource provide safe\, reliable\, and clean energy to meet its customers’ needs. In addition\, Nikki oversees marketing\, customer connections\, and major account management across Eversource’s gas business\, which includes traditional and clean technology offerings. Prior to this role\, Nikki was Eversource’s Director of Clean Technologies. \nBefore joining Eversource\, Nikki was a Project Director of Business Development for Enbridge. She was responsible for the development of new natural gas transmission ventures\, services\, and related energy projects in the Northeast region. She also managed the Enbridge commercial relationship with National Grid. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College with a major in biology\, and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Maine in Amherst. DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, January 21 at 12:00 p.m. ET\, the Atlantic Council hosts an #ACFrontPage conversation featuring President Salome Zourabichvili on the current political landscape in Georgia and the role Russia plays in undermining democratic processes in Europe and beyond. \n2024 was a turbulent year for Georgia. The country’s parliamentary elections in October were marred by serious internationally recognized voting irregularities. With support from Moscow\, Georgian Dream has used this power to crack down on civil society\, free media\, and political opposition. The party has also taken steps to further distance the country from its Euro-Atlantic path\, contrary to the will of the majority of Georgian citizens to join the European Union and NATO. Most recently\, this culminated a decision by Georgian Dream chairman Irakli Kobakhidze (the current occupant of the role of prime minister) to suspend negotiations to join the European Union until 2028. \nIn response\, hundreds of thousands of Georgian citizens took to the streets in Tbilisi and across the country to demonstrate against Georgian Dream’s aggressive attempts at repression and for a Euro-Atlantic future. Zourabichvili played a vital role in backing the pro-democracy protests and is considered by protestors as the rightful president of Georgia until free and fair elections are held. \nZourabichvili\, in conversation with Ia Meurmishvili\, chief international correspondent at the Cipher Brief\, discuss what’s next in Georgia’s fight for democracy. DESCRIPTION:We often wonder how to improve our “work-life balance”. One reason it’s so hard to answer this\, is that it’s the wrong question. Balance implies equal time or a consistent\, static state. Our lives are far too complex and changeable to be able to find one right answer on how to honor all of our commitments. \nIn this interactive workshop you will have the chance to explore the ways Boundaries show up in your own life. You will walk away with a deeper understanding of how to set limits on your time that are aligned with your values and what matters most to you. You will be able to identify ways to lead your life so that you can meet all the important commitments first—and do so while being free of the guilt and uncertainty when you say “No” to the expectations. \nOne reason setting Boundaries is so hard is that we often worry what would happen if we said “No”. We may worry that we won’t get the promotion if we don’t stay late every night. Or you might have a friend who takes up too much of your time\, but you don’t want to feel like a bad friend if you say “No” to her requests. \nIn this workshop\, you will have the chance to identify the boundaries in your life that are most challenging for you. Is it saying “No”? Is it making time for self-care? Is it letting go of the guilt for arranging a girls’ night out once in a while? Or is it getting creative on finding a way to say “Yes” to projects and goals you’ve been too busy to achieve? \nYou will learn from stories of women who identified what was most important to them\, and trusted those beliefs. When these brave women identified their values around a situation\, their ability to know what the right thing to do became obvious\, and they never looked back.

The city has some of the worst air pollution in the state\, predisposing residents to higher rates of cardiovascular disease and respiratory ailments\, including some of the highest rates of COVID-19 of any Massachusetts community. Power oversaw GreenRoots’ environmental justice campaigns and supported the work of the organizing team. She was appointed by President Biden to serve on the newly established White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. She plays a lead role in policy efforts regarding the future of natural gas and other strategic initiatives that help Eversource provide safe\, reliable\, and clean energy to meet its customers’ needs. In addition\, Nikki oversees marketing\, customer connections\, and major account management across Eversource’s gas business\, which includes traditional and clean technology offerings. Prior to this role\, Nikki was Eversource’s Director of Clean Technologies. \nBefore joining Eversource\, Nikki was a Project Director of Business Development for Enbridge. She was responsible for the development of new natural gas transmission ventures\, services\, and related energy projects in the Northeast region. She also managed the Enbridge commercial relationship with National Grid. As the lead author on Maine Audubon’s 2019 publication\, Renewable Energy and Wildlife in Maine\, she had an opportunity to dive into the literature to help the public understand the potential impacts to wildlife and their habitats from the siting\, construction\, and operations of renewable energy infrastructure as well as impact avoidance techniques. She also oversaw the development of Maine Audubon’s Renewable Energy Siting Tool which aims to provide resources developers and decision-makers the information they need to locate solar and land-based wind projects in areas that avoid or minimize negative impacts to important wildlife habitats. She was a member of the state’s Environment and Wildlife Working Group for the Maine Offshore Wind Initiative and currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College with a major in biology\, and a Master of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Maine in Amherst.
