SUMMARY:Green Energy Consumers Alliance's MA Fleet Electrification Programs
DESCRIPTION:Fleet vehicles represent a major portion of emissions and air pollution in Massachusetts. Electrifying these trucks\, buses\, and light-duty vehicles can reduce both CO2 and particulate matter pollution emissions for all communities in an equitable manner while meeting the Commonwealth’s zero emission goals. The Massachusetts Fleet EV Charging Program from National Grid and Eversource accelerates these efforts a cost-effective\, efficient\, and sustainable manner\, and this webinar will give an overview of the EV charging incentives\, no-cost fleet advisory services\, and off-peak charging rebates available for current and future EV fleets.

SUMMARY:Tuft Fletcher's Taking our Foot off the Accelerator: Prospects for Climate Action in 2023
DESCRIPTION:Summer 2023 Executive Education Masterclass\nTaught by Dean Rachel Kyte \nWithout urgent action to boost clean development\, emissions reductions and investment in our resilience\, we are on “a highway to hell with our foot on the accelerator.” \nSo says the UN Secretary General. \nWith climate diplomacy now omnipresent at virtually every negotiation table of consequence around the world\, literacy and the ability to facilitate such discussions has become essential for leaders across all sectors: for those occupying boardrooms and c-suites\, in cabinet offices and military commands\, and leading NGOs and other civil society organizations. \nThis course offers a rare opportunity to work closely with Fletcher School Dean Rachel Kyte\, leading expert in climate diplomacy\, and the economics and finance of climate action. Dean Kyte’s advisory roles have included former Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General\, as well as climate envoy of the World Bank and advisor to governments\, the UN\, development banks and private funds. Join Dean Kyte this summer for an exceptional collaborative learning experience. \nThrough lectures\, research-based readings\, contemporary analysis and active discussion\, this class provides an understanding of the current state of climate diplomacy. The course will review what is at stake in climate diplomacy in 2023 and address key issues around climate finance- the issue around which so much climate diplomacy implodes. Additionally\, we will examine leadership among governments and non-state actors and ask how the United Nations can hold all actors accountable for urgent action. What has to happen to achieve the requisite changes in agreements at the next climate talks presided over by the UAE in November 2023? \nEnroll Today\nAfter you complete enrollment\, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Your credit card will not be charged until the course begins. You will receive a welcome email and confirmation of your payment when the first online module launches in May. \nDates and Deadlines\n\nMay 18\, 2023: Online Course Begins\nJune 8\, 10\, and 11\, 2023: Live Sessions with Rachel Kyte (EST)\nJune 18\, 2023: Last Day to Complete Course\nJune 23\, 2023: Issuing of Certificates\n\nQuestions about the course? SUMMARY:CWEEL's Celebrating Women in Engineering
DESCRIPTION:In 2023\, more women than ever are skilling\, re-skilling\, and upskilling across various industries.  As the world becomes increasingly interconnected\, some gender gaps are also being filled through online learning.  However\, gaps remain substantial in terms of representation in STEM fields – particularly in ICT and engineering.  The benefits of diversity in these fields are widely acknowledged – greater innovation and better business returns.  To celebrate International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) and to encourage greater representation in this field\, especially as the world strives for a cleaner energy future\, CWEEL is hosting a panel discussion featuring several women from around the globe who pursued and have been thriving in the engineering profession.

SUMMARY:EBC's Dam Management Webinar: Dam Ownership\, Jurisdiction\, and Access
DESCRIPTION:New England has over 14\,000 dams and many of them have complicated histories.  In addition\, dams by their very nature span watercourses that very often form the boundaries between different properties\, municipalities\, and states.  Multiple owners\, sites that cross jurisdictions\, and complicated issues of access and easements make working on dam repair\, removal\, or maintenance a tricky business. This EBC Dam Management webinar will explore these challenges and potential opportunities to overcome. Presentations from consultants\, contractors\, and the legal community will provide pathways forward for some of the more challenging sites in New England and beyond.
