SUMMARY:Moving the Needle: Social Marketing in Energy & Environment
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1624833745935{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\nMoving the Needle: Social Marketing in Energy & Environment\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1624833680249{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]To deliver real impact\, we often need to change perceptions\, create relevance\, build receptivity and ultimately reduce barriers and provide valued benefits to sustainable behavior change. Social marketing provides a road map to success. \nSocial Marketing is a distinct marketing discipline\, focused on behavior change for social good — ones that will improve health\, prevent injuries\, protect the environment\, contribute to communities and enhance financial wellbeing. Fundamental principles at the core of this practice have been used to help reduce tobacco use\, decrease infant mortality\, stop the spread of HIV/AIDS\, make wearing bike helmets a social norm\, and decrease littering. \nJoin us on August 17 for a discussion with globally recognized social marketing expert Nancy R. Lee\, President of Social Marketing Services\, Inc.\, and special consultant to C+C. Nancy has served as a leading consultant on hundreds of seminal social marketing campaigns\, conducted social marketing workshops around the world\, has authored a dozen books on the topic\, and is a Teaching Associate at the University of Washington. \nNancy will provide an overview of social marketing principles and approaches and share examples from her upcoming book Success in Social Marketing: 100 Case Studies from Around the Globe\, that illustrate how social marketing can spur behavior change\, including ones relative to energy and environmental issues. \nNEWIEE is proud to co-host this exciting event with SMANA\, the Social Marketing Association of North America.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section min_height=”0″ sidebar=”sidebar-1″][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_separator color=”custom” el_width=”30″ accent_color=”#189c8e”][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1624834174642{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\nSpeaker\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″ offset=”vc_col-md-2 vc_col-sm-offset-0 vc_col-xs-offset-3 vc_col-xs-6″][vc_single_image image=”17802″ img_size=”170×170″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3/4″ offset=”vc_col-md-10 vc_col-sm-offset-0 vc_col-xs-offset-2 vc_col-xs-8″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1624834034666{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Nancy Lee\nPresident\, Social Marketing Services\, Inc.\nStrategic Advisor\, C+C\nTeaching Associate\, University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy & Governance[/vc_column_text][mk_toggle title=”Read Nancy’s Bio” el_class=”bio-toggle”]Nancy Lee has more than 30 years of professional marketing experience\, with special expertise in Social Marketing\, the proven discipline for behavior change for social good. \nShe is president of Social Marketing Services\, Inc.\, in Seattle\, Washington\, a strategic advisor for social marketing campaigns at C+C in Seattle\, and a teaching associate at the University of Washington \, where she teaches social marketing in the MPA and MPH program. SUMMARY:NEWEA's DEI 101 Webinar
DESCRIPTION:There are many reasons for individuals and organizations to gain a better understanding of issues related to diversity\, equity\, and inclusion (DEI). Because of the different natures of organizations\, there is not a one-size-fits-all program and/or approach to address and advance DEI issues. This DEI 101 webinar has been designed to raise awareness of DEI challenges and opportunities at the personal\, workplace\, and professional levels. Opportunities will be provided to attendees to engage in a dialogue on how we can advance DEI in our workplace and community.

SUMMARY:EBC's A Great Bay Estuary Update: Permitting and Regulatory Impacts
DESCRIPTION:This EBC New Hampshire webinar will provide an overview and update on a new and cutting-edge NPDES General Permit that is likely to be used as model in the future for estuaries receiving effluent from multiple publicly owned treatment works (“POTW”).  The program will focus on the health of the Great Bay Estuary and the Great Bay Total Nitrogen General Permit issued in 2021 by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) in coordination with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (“NH DES”) and 13 POTWs that discharge to Great Bay.    The Total Nitrogen General Permit is the first of its kind in the New England Region and sets important goals for enhancing and restoring the health of the Great Bay Estuary.  This program will: (1) outline the current health of the Great Bay estuary\, (2) summarize the complex permitting aspects that regulate discharges into this unique Estuary of National Significance\, (3) discuss future State and federal permitting goals for the Estuary\, and (4) assess potential impacts that the new regulatory requirements have on local municipalities\, industries\, and businesses. \nDuring the program\, you will learn about the scientific\, legal\, and regulatory foundations of the General Permit and how it will be implemented.  You will hear different perspectives from the EPA\, NH DES\, the Conservation Law Foundation\, regulated municipalities\, and impacted businesses. \nA robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.

SUMMARY:EBC's Virtually Unstoppable! How to Accelerate Your Career from Your Home Office
DESCRIPTION:This EBC Professional Development webinar will consist of a panel of industry members with diverse backgrounds to discuss the impacts of working remotely on junior to mid level career staff. \nAs a result of the COVID-19 pandemic\, many companies are implementing new programs for employees to work from home either full time or part time. Many junior employees may be struggling with internal networking and mentoring outside of an office setting while we adapt to the new normal. The purpose of this panel is to provide a discussion on how to network within your company with many project managers and mentors working from home. Speakers will include a range of perspectives from a senior level employee\, an office manager\, and mid-level employee with remote experience. \nA robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.
