SUMMARY:IEEE PES's Accelerate your Knowledge about EVs
DESCRIPTION:Accelerate your Knowledge about EVs : Learn about the continued transformation of the EV market \nAbout the Event\nPlease join us to learn about the transformation of the EV market. Our speakers will be taking the driver’s seat as they present on how partnerships\, incentive programs\, and innovative new technologies are helping to achieve a reliable and resilient grid. Following the presentations\, we will have a Q&A session. Please RSVP by March 28th. \nSpeakers:\nRachel AckermanDirector\, TransportationMassachusetts Clean Energy Center \nRachel Ackerman is the Director of Transportation at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC). The past ten years Rachel has fostered clean energy growth in New England. She has worked to develop robust and transformative transportation programming across all sectors of ground transportation. A mission of this work has been to leverage public-private partnerships to demonstrate business and financing models which can be scaled and replicated across the Commonwealth. Rachel oversees passenger and medium- and heavy-duty vehicle electrification through the Accelerating Clean Transportation (ACT) Now Program\, Commercial Fleet Electrification Advisory Services\, and ACT School Bus. These programs support clean transportation education models\, light-duty EV adoption\, medium-duty fleet electrification\, electrification of heavy-duty public transportation depots\, and a suite of school bus electrification ownership models. Most recently Rachel has focused on burden and access within MassCEC’s transportation mission\, incorporating equity guideposts into all aspects of program design. Prior to focusing on transportation initiatives\, Rachel led clean energy programs in commercial-scale generation sectors such as land-based and offshore wind\, hydropower\, and anaerobic digestion. \nKaren HsuDirector\, Business Development\, UtilitiesEnel X \nWith over a decade of software experience and expertise in utility enterprise solutions\, Karen Hsu leads utility and municipal government business development for Enel X. Under her leadership\, Enel X (formerly eMotorWerks) has expanded its investor-owned utility portfolio and its electric vehicle smart charging products and energy management services. Prior to joining eMotorWerks\, Karen led a sales executive team for SEW\, a SAP for utilities companies\, which focused on utility Customer Information System (CIS) and asset management solutions in the field. During her time at SEW\, she was the top revenue-producing sales executive and was responsible for direct utility sales\, managing the software implementation team\, and part of the business advisory team that informed software development. Some of the notable utility partners Karen has secured deals with include Xcel Energy\, American Electric Power\, Southern Company\, Georgia Power\, Bahama Power & Light\, Emerald People’s Utility District\, Tacoma Public Utilities\, Puget Sound Energy\, National Grid\, PG&E\, Southern California Edison\, SDG&E\, DTE Energy and Portland General Electric. She holds a BA in Biology from Cal State Fullerton and technical certifications from UC Irvine focused on Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.
