SUMMARY:Native American Heritage Month Panel
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1760377228696{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Balancing Environmental Stewardship and Energy Development on Indigenous Land will be a panel discussion that will address a few of the many dynamics at play as we look toward the future of energy development in our local community. It is a conversation about evolution\, both of people and natural resources\, and philosophical and logistical realities of land ownership and renewable systems. \nAcross the country\, large-scale renewable energy projects\, transmission lines\, and mining operations for minerals that support the energy sector are built on or near tribal lands. This panel discussion will acknowledge the fraught history of U.S. energy projects on Native American lands and how that history has influenced energy development today. Speakers will share best practices for ensuring that Native Americans have a seat at the table in determining how best to use Indigenous lands\, and weigh protecting biodiversity and natural resources amidst growing electrical demand and the clean energy transition. \nThis event will be held in person at Avangrid’s Boston office (125 High Street\, 6th Floor) and virtually. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][mk_button corner_style=”rounded” size=”medium” url=”https://www.eventbrite.com/e/balancing-environmental-stewardship-energy-development-on-indigenous-land-tickets-1778231802189?aff=oddtdtcreator” target=”_blank” align=”center” button_custom_width=”300″]Register Now[/mk_button][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_separator color=”custom” el_width=”30″ css=”.vc_custom_1759156681792{border-color: #189C8E !important;}” accent_color=”#189C8E”][vc_column_text margin_bottom=”0″ css=”.vc_custom_1770698468475{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\nModerator and Panelists\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”24031″ css=””][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1759155925533{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Sarah Adams\nModerator\nSenior State Policy Advisor\nISO New England[/vc_column_text][mk_toggle title=”Read Sarah’s Bio” el_class=”bio-toggle”]Sarah Adams is a Senior State Policy Advisor at ISO New England\, the region’s grid operator\, where she is responsible for performing outreach to government officials and other power system stakeholders.
