Asso. of Energy Service Professionals: Electrification Nation: Understanding (and Improving) the Electrification Customer Journey
Moderator

Caroline Carl
Hawaii Energy, Leidos
As Hawai‘i Energy’s Deputy Director, Caroline oversees the detailed planning and execution of a range of energy efficiency programs helping Hawai‘i families and businesses save money and make smart energy choices. She is responsible for the design of Hawai‘i Energy’s new energy optimization initiatives targeting peak demand reduction and load flexibility. As part of this work she spearheads a number of collaborative planning efforts with key industry stakeholders supporting the adoption of clean energy technologies. Caroline also directs the market transformational program which is designed to provide education and enable behavioral transformation that will lead to energy savings in future years.
Caroline has been extensively involved in energy research initiatives in Hawai‘i for the past 15 years, designing and developing programs, and managing community outreach activities. She currently serves as Board President for the Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and has been a Board member of the Hawai‘i Solar Energy Association (HSEA) since 2018. Caroline holds a B.A in Environment and Development from McGill University and a M.S. in Geographic Information Science and Technology from the University of Southern California.

Jennifer Ignacio
Shifted Energy
As the Vice President of Operations at Shifted Energy, Jennifer is responsible for increasing value to customers and program participants through the successful implementation and scaling of projects. Her areas of expertise include technical development of energy optimization measures, renewable energy design and integration, as well as operations and project management. She studied Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and Environmental Law at Clarkson University, and completed an Executive MBA Program in Sustainability. Jennifer is a LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Energy Manager, holding General Engineering and Contracting Licenses.
Jennifer is passionate about conservation, sustainability, and gender parity. She volunteers with several organizations focused on land and ocean restoration, promoting girls in STEM, and animal rescue. She currently resides in Oahu with her family, where she competes in outrigger canoe paddling.

Michael Ihesiaba
Elevate Energy
Michael Ihesiaba is the Senior Director of Engineering at Elevate, a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to designing and implementing programs that reduce energy costs, improve health, and advance equitable access to clean energy solutions, particularly for underserved and low-income communities. In his role, Michael leads a diverse and highly skilled Engineering team responsible for delivering technical expertise and innovative solutions across a broad spectrum of Elevate’s programs. The team conducts energy assessments, performs energy modeling, and provides technical consulting to support sustainable projects that include solar initiatives, commercial and nonprofit facilities, multifamily housing, and public buildings. Michael’s work at Elevate reflects his commitment to addressing the intersection of energy efficiency, sustainability, and social impact.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Michael enjoys woodworking, weightlifting, and watching movies. He is committed to continuous learning and stays engaged with the latest advancements in sustainability, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and innovative energy solutions.

Elizabeth Korb
Staff UX Researcher, Uplight
As a Staff UX Researcher at Uplight, Elizabeth leads national research efforts to understand the needs of residential and business energy customers. Her work helps shape utility program design by ensuring that outreach, software interfaces, and messaging align with how real people think and make decisions.
With 10+ years of experience in UX product design and mixed-methods research across industries, Elizabeth is passionate about making energy services more usable and accessible—especially for
underrepresented and income-qualified communities.
Elizabeth holds a BFA in Communication Design from Washington University in St. Louis, along
with certifications in Behavioral Product Psychology and Google Design Sprint Facilitation
