Women’s Energy Network Boston Chapter: Fusion Talk and Tour of Commonwealth Fusion Systems’ SPARC Facility
The Women’s Energy Network is invited to attend a Fusion Talk and Tour of Commonwealth Fusion Systems’ SPARC facility. SPARC is a tokamak, a device critical to enabling cost-effective power generation via fusion. CFS will use SPARC to demonstrate “net fusion energy,” where a fusion energy machine produces more energy from fusion than it needs to power the process. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear a talk by CFS’ Chief Global Affairs Officer, Jennifer Ganten, before touring Tokamak Hall where SPARC is currently under construction. A boxed lunch will be included.
Location: Meet up at 141 Barnum Rd, Devens parking lot for a shuttle to the CFS facility
Cost: $5 for WEN members and $20 for non-members
Speaker: Jennifer Ganten, CFS Chief Global Affairs Officer
Host: Commonwealth Fusion Systems
The event registration is limited to 40 attendees.
Due to limited parking on site, all attendees will be required to arrive via a shuttle provided by WEN.
Please be mindful that the tour will be conducted on an active construction site. For your safety, guests will not be allowed to tour if they are not properly dressed.
- Long pants are required. Dresses or shorts are not allowed on the construction site.
- Closed toe and hard-soled shoes only. NO SANDALS. NO HIGH-HEELS. Proper footwear is very important on the site.
- CFS will provide a hard hat, safety vest and eye protection.
