Heating Electrification Workshop 2026

October 20 @ 1:00 pm - October 22 @ 2:00 pm

States across the Northeast and MidAtlantic continue to advance ambitious goals for widespread adoption of highly efficient heat pumps by 2030—an essential strategy for stabilizing energy costs, strengthening resilience, improving health, and cutting pollution. As the region accelerates toward these goals, market actors are focused on solutions that make heat pumps not only accessible, but truly affordable for households and businesses.

Join us at our Heating Electrification Workshop (HEW2026) in Portland, ME, to explore the next generation of strategies that drive both adoption and affordability. This year’s workshop will spotlight innovative market interventions, strategies for reducing upfront costs, and effective program models that reduce financial barriers and support contractors. We’ll also examine emerging technologies with high potential for impact, workforce development opportunities, consumer awareness and education efforts, and policy models that support equitable, affordable electrification across the region.

We’ll kick off HEW2026 with a Day Zero welcome reception and small group dinners around Portland’s vibrant restaurant scene—an opportunity to connect with fellow attendees and NEEP staff. From there, the program moves into one and a half days of interactive sessions, plenaries, wellness opportunities, and dedicated time with regional colleagues to tackle challenges, share insights, and advance practical solutions.

Whether you’re shaping policy, designing programs, deploying technologies, or working in the field, HEW2026 will equip you with the insights, tools, and relationships needed to accelerate heat pump adoption and deliver affordable, scalable solutions for the region.
