Speakers:

Rachel Ackerman
Director, Transportation
Massachusetts Clean Energy Center

Rachel Ackerman is the Director of Transportation at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC). The past ten years Rachel has fostered clean energy growth in New England. She has worked to develop robust and transformative transportation programming across all sectors of ground transportation. A mission of this work has been to leverage public-private partnerships to demonstrate business and financing models which can be scaled and replicated across the Commonwealth. Rachel oversees passenger and medium- and heavy-duty vehicle electrification through the Accelerating Clean Transportation (ACT) Now Program, Commercial Fleet Electrification Advisory Services, and ACT School Bus. These programs support clean transportation education models, light-duty EV adoption, medium-duty fleet electrification, electrification of heavy-duty public transportation depots, and a suite of school bus electrification ownership models. Most recently Rachel has focused on burden and access within MassCEC’s transportation mission, incorporating equity guideposts into all aspects of program design. Prior to focusing on transportation initiatives, Rachel led clean energy programs in commercial-scale generation sectors such as land-based and offshore wind, hydropower, and anaerobic digestion.
