NEWIEE: Now Active in Every New England State
It’s official – Vermont is finally on the NEWIEE map! I’m happy to announce that NEWIEE is continuing to grow and adding a Vermont Chapter. This means NEWIEE has active chapters in every state in New England – an exciting milestone!
As the Vermont Chapter lead, my goal is to provide a regular forum for the amazing women in Vermont’s energy and environmental sector to come together, share ideas, support each other through challenges, and cheer each other on.
The Green Mountain State is abuzz with energy and environmental activity, but this NEWIEE Chapter is unique. It’s the one place dedicated to advancing the leadership of women—including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ women and non-binary individuals—in the energy and environmental sectors, and we want this new forum to work for you!
We will kick off the NEWIEE Vermont Chapter with an event this October at VEIC’s offices in Winooski. We’ll hear from an amazing panel including Mari McClure, President and CEO of Green Mountain Power, June Tierney, Commissioner at the Vermont Department of Public Service, and Sarah Adams, Vermont State Policy Advisor at ISO New England. We’ll then have a networking reception, where attendees can both get to know new people and deepen connections with years-long colleagues and friends.
Date: Wednesday, October 23
Time: 4:00-6:00 pm
Location: VEIC, 20 Winooski Falls Way, 5th Floor, Winooski VT, 05404
Registration: Coming Soon
If you have thoughts on what you’d like to see from the Vermont Chapter, or if you’d like to volunteer to help plan events, please let me know! Reach out to Rebecca Foster, CEO of VEIC, at rfoster@veic.org.
