Wrap Up: NEWIEE On Campus at the 2019 Sustainability Student Leadership Symposium

In NEWIEE Events, NEWIEE On the Rise

NEWIEE members were so energized to hear about campus sustainability initiatives and to interact with more than 100 students from all over the region at 3/3’s Sustainability Student Leadership Symposium! To wrap up an exciting day of presentations, three of our own rising professionals and a representative from Greenovate (City of Boston) shared their experiences in the energy and environmental fields with Symposium attendees during a career panel. Thanks so much to host Brandeis University, and to our incredible panelists from Synapse Energy Economics, SWCA, and Tighe & Bond.

The 2019 Sustainability Student Leadership Symposium was held on Sunday, March 3 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. The original event details are re-posted below.

NEWIEE is continuing its popular series of on-campus chats for the spring 2019 semester. This event will partner with Brandeis University and Wellesley College to offer a career panel during the annual Sustainability Student Leadership Symposium. Three NEWIEE members will be joined by a representative from the City of Boston to share their experience with students and talk about careers in energy and the environment.

Panel:

  • David Corbie – Greenovate, City of Boston
  • Ashleigh Gilchrist, Civil Engineer – Tighe & Bond
  • Nina Peluso, Research Associate – Synapse Energy Economics
  • Naomi Valentine, Project Manager – SWCA Environmental Consultants

We are delighted to collaborate with Brandeis University and Wellesley College on this event. If you know of a school that would like NEWIEE members to come share their career stories, or if you are a young woman who would like to volunteer to talk to undergraduates about your career, please let us know!
