Join NEWIEE Rising Professionals on November 9th for a workshop on essential steps to advancing your career with Tiffany McLean and Katie Peterssen of Ignite Career and Leadership Development, LLC.
Knowing what you want out of your career is the first step, then comes the challenge of charting the path to get there. Before a plan for advancement can be created, attendees will evaluate the skills and knowledge required for the target role and examine steps for evaluating expertise and resources for improving readiness for advancement. Then, participants will learn strategies to make the networking process more approachable based on their unique talents and personality type. We will recognize current relationships and identify those that need to be refreshed or developed. Lastly, attendees will prepare to lead and navigate conversations with decision makers about your career goals.
Attendees will leave with:
- Career Advancement Action Plan worksheet
- Visual guide of their professional network and list of connections to refresh or build
- Checklist for determining skill and/or knowledge gaps which impact advancement opportunities
- Resources for leading conversations with supervisors and other decision makers about career plans and advancement opportunities
- New professional connections with NEWIEE members
