ISO New England is the independent, not-for-profit organization authorized by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to oversee the day-to-day operation of New England’s electric power generation and transmission system, administer the region’s competitive wholesale electricity markets, and manage comprehensive regional power system planning. Quantum Biopower – Connecticut’s first anaerobic digestion facility – can process 40 thousand tons of food waste a year and is capable of producing 1.2 megawatts of power. Come learn how anaerobic digesters are critical to achieving Connecticut’s goal of diverting 60% of food waste from the state’s garbage stream!
