Planning for WSTA 2020
Planning for Women Shaping the Agenda (WSTA) this year was one of the most rewarding efforts I have undertaken while at NEWIEE, especially in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We knew this year’s event would have to be virtual, and we knew we wanted to select a topic that would shine a light on issues surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our topic – Promoting Equitable Access to Clean Energy and a Sustainable Environment – allows us to take a hard look at DEI within the energy and environmental sectors and pushes us to ask the hard questions that need to be addressed by our industry. Our moderator, Nancy Seidman, Senior Advisor with the Regulatory Assistance Project, will do just that. Our panel brings together academic, grantmaking, and municipal perspectives to weigh in on this immensely important topic.
I could not be more proud of the women we have leading this discussion, inspiring us to learn, to take action, and to shape the agenda so that we can all enjoy the benefits of clean energy and a sustainable environment.
Thank you to each and every member of the WSTA planning committee for all the hard work you have contributed to this signature NEWIEE event!
