Spring is an exciting time for NEWIEE as we hold our Annual Gala and kick-off Membership Month in May. The organization has grown so much over the past decade. Since 2018, our membership has grown more than 200%! We have grown to 93 organizational members with more than 1,200 people engaged. We are proud to have created a unique and powerful way for women in the energy and environmental fields to connect with each other, get recognized for their contributions, and learn from others in the field.
Our Signature Events continue to attract great interest. We just held one of our largest NEWIEE Galas ever in April where Governor Maura Healey was our keynote with more than 600 attendees. At our Fall Fete in November, we awarded our first ever DEI Founders Award. This award honors the founders of our organization and recognizes the spirit of the NEWIEE founders— uplifting underrepresented voices and creating a space for like-minded individuals to come together. Our Women Shaping the Agenda is coming up on July 18, 2024 – save the date!
Our five regional chapters are going strong, bringing together women across our diverse geography to network in smaller settings. We are about to announce the matches of this year’s mentorship program and have proudly watched as mentees then further engage with NEWIEE as well as across the field. In response to member feedback, this year marks our inaugural Peer Circles program, with over 40 individuals in 6 groups touching base monthly. Our Jobs Board is a go to resource for job seekers and employers, with 3,100 views over the past 12 months. These resources provide a range of career development opportunities to our membership, and I am so proud of the support and pathways we are providing for them.
On June 11th, we look forward to our annual Organizational Membership Roundtable where we will seek your input on what is of most interest and value to you as members. Our members are what makes NEWIEE special. If you are not a member, I encourage you to join! If you are a member, I encourage you to POWER UP YOUR NETWORK, and look for ways to continue to get engaged.
