Making Our Way Through Uncertain Times
Overarching policies have been generally established for the electricity sector and local economies in New England with respect to decarbonization goals. However, as we sit here today – 20 to 30 years away from the finish line – we are still unsure of the road we will take. At this year’s Power Markets Conference, we will hear from market participants, stakeholders, and experts from around the world about the ways we can maintain a reliable and affordable electricity system through markets and market-like mechanisms. Moreover, we will discuss if, when, and where we will have to rely on non-market approaches, as well as the consequential tradeoffs that arise for consumers and electricity sector participants.
