SWEP MA’s Volunteer at Food Link Arlington
October 11, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join friends from the Society of Women Environmental Professionals (SWEP_MA) for an afternoon of volunteering at Food Link in Arlington.
This event will involve working at the Food Link Hub, assisting with a variety of tasks including sorting produce and non-perishable food, packing boxes of food, composting expired food, loading and unloading our vehicles, and cleaning tasks. They are requiring mask-wearing as well as requiring everyone who volunteers to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
This event is free but space is limited.
After volunteering, there will be an optional dinner at local restaurant.
Food Link is a community organization that envisions a world in which everyone has abundant nourishing food and a food system in which no edible food goes to waste. They rescue surplus fresh food that would otherwise be wasted and deliver it to community organizations serving people in need throughout Greater Boston.
