Western New England March 2025 Chapter Event – Tour of FirstLight’s Northfield Mountain
March 27 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join NEWIEE’s Western New England Regional Chapter for a tour of FirstLight’s Northfield Mountain on Thursday, March 27! Northfield Mountain is New England’s largest energy storage facility – capable of powering more than 1 million homes for up to 7.5 hours each and every day. The “Mountain” stores energy in an upper pond that is then released through the station when electricity is needed most.
FirstLight carefully manages over 14,000 acres of land around their clean energy projects, providing recreation and educational opportunities to visitors, including hiking, rock climbing, fishing, camping, snow shoeing, and other activities. Following the tour, if conditions permit we hope you will stay to join the group for more networking on the trails! Trail Map Report
Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes. Registration is required for the tour, and attendance is capped at 15. If there is enough interest, we may be able to add a second group, so make sure to join the waitlist if you don’t get one of the first 15 slots!
NEWIEE may on occasion take photographs and/or video of event attendees for use in print materials or by electronic methods. Your attendance at any NEWIEE event grants permission for NEWIEE to use these photographs and/or video in its marketing and public relations efforts. Would you like to volunteer to host, speak, sponsor, give a tour, or suggest a NEWIEE event idea? Email Programming Co-Chairs and NEWIEE Directors, Sarah Adams and/or Vivian Kimball. Have an event you would like to cross-promote?
