EBC 17th Annual Dredging Conference – Beneficial Use of Dredge Materials: Tools available to help your restoration project
November 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
$110The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has initiated a new directive to beneficially use 70% of its dredged materials by 2030. This doctrine now promotes and encourages the use of dredged materials to restore marshes and wetlands, support coastal resiliency efforts, or create new habitats. Dredged materials are seen as a resource, not a waste.
The USACE has led the effort to reuse dredge materials through research and development at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). ERDC and its initiative, Engineering With Nature (EWN), have developed a number of tools to assist the engineering and regulatory community in the development of beneficial use projects.
EBC’s 17th Annual Dredging Conference focuses on USACE’s initiative to beneficially use dredge material, with speakers addressing wetland engineering, nature-based solutions, and modeling best practices. The conference will provide attendees with the tools and knowledge to better plan, develop, and execute projects that use dredged material.
A robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.
General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (2.5 training contact hours). Certificates are automatically provided via email link for registered attendees at the conclusion of the webinar.
