NEWIEE Vermont Chapter Sustainable Spirits & Stem
Join the NEWIEE Vermont Chapter for networking at Barr Hill Gin Distillery!
Founded by a beekeeper, Barr Hill is an industry leader for reconnecting spirits to agriculture with innovative advances in heat reclamation, wastewater reduction, and clean energy, while sourcing raw ingredients from sustainable farms to support healthy ecosystems in the region.
Attendees will hear more about Barr Hill’s mission to create a sustainable distilling operation, which was built on a restored brownfield — 100% of their energy is carbon neutral, 78% comes from renewable resources, and 100% of their stillage goes to a local biodigester which helps power the town. In addition to onsite pollinators, they have a state-of-the-art heat reclamation system and their packaging uses up to 30% of recycled glass, the maximum amount allowed.
