Working to balance our efforts between conservation and climate mitigation\, all while deploying solutions at an accelerated pace\, is essential. She believes that bridging the gap between science and technological innovations\, and local communities is essential to inspire change and develop mitigations at the pace we need that will ultimately reduce environmental harm. With this new industry [offshore wind]\, we have the opportunity to shape our energy future to the benefit of underserved communities. Historically\, energy infrastructure is ‘out of sight out of mind’ for well-off communities and sited within communities without the resources to advocate for their health\, environment and economic incentives. The prospect of an energy industry that is diverse\, just and shaped to the needs of our local communities is exciting and fills her with purpose daily. \nKelsey holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Clark University. \n\n[/mk_toggle][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1741055445412{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\nDEI Founders’ Award – Individual:\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”24950″ img_size=”170×170″ css=””][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/6″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1742747186326{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Ruth Georges\nFounder and CEO\nWe Rise Consulting\, LLC[/vc_column_text][mk_toggle title=”Read Ruth’s Bio” el_class=”bio-toggle”]Ruth\, born in Port-Au-Prince\, Haiti\, migrated to the United States as a child and earned double majors in Interdisciplinary Social Science and Women & Gender Studies at the University of South Florida.
